The sun has taken its hat off
Sadly, the sun has hibernated for the year, but this isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
When you undergo a cosmetic surgery procedure - of any kind - you will be advised to stay out of the sun while you recover.
Luckily, winter is the perfect time to layer up on knitwear and coats and heal in a safe way.
However, that’s not to say you can turn to the sunbeds. High UV rays can increase pigmentation in the scar, making it appear darker and thicker.
It’s important to note that sun protection can help maintain the look and feel of your new boobs, nose, tummy…or whatever procedure you decide on. Keeping the area covered, protected and out of the sun as much as possible can help reduce the look of scars.
Rest is easy
When the temperature starts to fall, there’s nothing quite like curling up on the sofa, putting a film on and enjoying a hot chocolate.
And, you can do exactly that when you’re recovering from cosmetic surgery.
As long as you go on a walk around the block to keep blood flowing, you can rest on the sofa until you’re feeling ready to go back to work and step back into your usual routine.
Holiday season is over
Although relaxing by the pool will have to wait until next year, it’s a good thing if you’ve chosen to have a cosmetic surgery procedure in the last few months of the year.
Sea water, chlorine, sand, flying and alcohol are all things that you should avoid in the first stage of recovery. They can cause infection, affect blood flow and make scars look more severe.
So, instead of pining for the summer to come back around, think about how good you’ll feel next year when you’re fully healed from your surgery and ready to take on your holiday with confidence.
No need for new clothes
If you undergo cosmetic surgery like a boob job in the summer, you’ll probably want to get new bras, tops and swimwear to show off your new friends. However, due to how much your breasts can change post-op, you’ll find you switch between sizes and also clothes sizes.
However, when it’s a bit colder, you can cover up in a jumper and hoodie and don’t have to worry about what’s going underneath.
Get summer ready
By the time you’ve healed from your procedure, and you’ve gotten used to your new body or face, it’ll be time for summer.
With the new change, you can get your hands on the latest summer trends and strut around with your newfound confidence.
