How old do I need to be to have surgery with MYA?

With most cosmetic surgery providers in the UK, you must be over a certain age to have a procedure, this is to ensure that you have made an informed decision, done your research and are not taking the decision to have a procedure lightly.  To have a consultation with one of our eConsult advisors for any cosmetic surgery procedure with MYA, you must be over the age of 18 years old. (We will ask for proof of age and identity prior to the consultation.)

Things to consider before having cosmetic surgery

  Prepare lots of questions, there is no such thing as a silly question. We recommend taking a pen and notepad to your consultation to make notes and so you don’t forget any key information.

  It is important that you have a clear understanding of the reasons you are wanting to have cosmetic surgery and that this is not a decision you have taken lightly.  
  
  

• Be cautious with social media ads and ‘cheap deals’ 
  Be aware of the cheap deals and social media ads that you may come across. If it seems to be too good to be true, it usually is. Travelling abroad for cosmetic surgery can be dangerous, so always seek advice before doing so.  
  
  

• It’s your body and your choice  
  Remember, it’s your body and your choice what you decide to do with it. It is important that you are doing this for yourself and no one else! Equally, don’t let the opinions of others get in the way of your decisions.
