What is rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty is the process of reshaping the bone, tissue and cartilage or inserting grafts or implants to reshape the nose.
Areas of the nose that can be operated on are the bridge, tip, length and width.
Rhinoplasty cost
Here at MYA, a nose job costs upwards of £6,995.
The total cost depends on the type of rhinoplasty you and your surgeon choose, as well as individual requirements (your desired result and current nose tissue).
At the initial consultation, you will be given a guide price. The final cost of rhinoplasty will be given during your surgeon consultation.
Cosmetic nose job
A cosmetic nose job is when rhinoplasty surgery is undergone to enhance or improve the overall look of the nose.
By balancing out the facial features, many patients experience a boost in self-confidence, greatly improving their quality of life.
Functional nose surgery
A nose job isn’t just for a change in look, it can also be used for functional reasons, such as improving breathing difficulties.
Sleep apnea is common in both men and women and can lead to poor concentration, a strain on relationships and headaches. It’s caused by breathing difficulties and leads to a lack of sleep during the night.
By straightening out the partition and unlocking the nasal septum, congestion is reduced to make breathing (and sleeping) much easier.
While rhinoplasty surgery has functional benefits, we only currently offer it for cosmetic reasons here at MYA.
Types of nose jobs
There are a few different types of rhinoplasty techniques available depending on the reason for undergoing the surgery and what you want to achieve with a nose job.
Open rhinoplasty
Open rhinoplasty is when a small incision is made on either side of the nostrils before elevating the skin to access inside the nose. This is mostly used when better visibility is needed to perform the rhinoplasty and sculpt the new shape.
Closed rhinoplasty
A closed rhinoplasty is performed inside the nose and doesn’t require any external incisions. If just a small amount of lumps and bumps need to be operated on, a closed rhinoplasty will be performed.
Alar base reduction
If the width of the nostrils needs to be reduced, an alar base reduction will be performed during the rhinoplasty procedure.
Septo rhinoplasty
Surgeons recommend a septo rhinoplasty if the patient wants to correct a deviated septum. This is often recommended for those with sleep apnea.
