Has Chrissy Teigen had cosmetic surgery?

You are likely to know Chrissy from her early modelling career, TV personality, being the wife of John Legend or more likely she is a firm favourite to follow on Twitter with her jibes at other celebs, trolls and even President Trump. But the question is, how does Chrissy continue to appear ageless over the years. Could it be down to cosmetic surgery or non-surgical procedures?

What Chrissy Teigen Says

In a recent interview with Glamour UK Chrissy reveals for the first time publicly that she had a breast enlargement at the age of 20. When asked what her reasons for having cosmetic surgery were, she responded "Honestly, I kept them the same cup size. I just filled them out, so they are rounder and firmer, but I want them out now. If I could do one thing, it would be to have a lift. I think you’re supposed to replace [implants] every ten years."

What the Experts Say

The medical devices agency recommends that implants are replaced every 10-15 years, but this is not a requirement. The length of time you have your implants in ultimately depends on how your breasts change over time due to; Pregnancy, gaining or losing weight, breastfeeding, smoking, sun exposure.

If Chrissy was to go ahead and have her breast implants removed, she would require a breast implant removal and reaugmentation which is a surgical procedure in which a patient’s current implants are removed along with any internal scar tissue, the pocket is repaired, and the new implants are placed. A breast uplift, mastopexy or breast lift operation is very common for woman whose breasts have dropped or lost shape due to childbirth, weight loss or as part of the ageing process. The aim of breast uplift surgery (mastopexy) is to elevate ptosis (sagging) breasts by correcting the shape and size of the breasts.

Chrissy also goes on to talk about the importance of celebrities and people in the public eye being open and honest about their procedures She states that, “You can’t set these expectations for people that everything is perfect. Everyone filters their sh*t, edits or Facetunes so you forget what normal faces or bodies look like. It’s not fair and it makes you jealous of other people’s bodies. It’s lying to people by omission. But also, while you want to teach your kids to be comfortable in their own skin, you want to tell them everything you can and let them decide.”

Has Chrissy Teigen had Filler?

We believe it is possible that Chrissy has had some subtle non-surgical lip filler treatment, as her upper lip looks fuller and has a more defined shape, giving a more gentle smile. It appears that the provider has ensured her lips still look natural though, and in proportion to her facial features. The average cost of lip fillers can range depending on the provider and how much filler is used but you can expect to pay between £200 - £1000 per treatment.

Has Chrissy Teigen had Botox?

We would suggest Chrissy has had anti-wrinkle injections, often referred to as Botox, to her forehead and around her eyes (crow’s feet). This non-surgical treatment will create a smooth forehead and limit any frown/expression lines. The treatment will normally last 3-6 months; as muscle action gradually returns, the lines and wrinkles begin to reappear and need to be treated again. This procedure can give the appearance of smoother skin if you are after a youthful appearance or it can be used as a preventative measure to slow the process of getting fine lines or wrinkles.

It is possible Chrissy has had jawline and chin contouring with non-surgical dermal fillers. This treatment creates a more defined and slimming look to the chin and jawline and can cost around £150 to £300 per session, depending on the amount of product used. Weight loss can also affect a similar change of the face shape, but fillers will help create specific definition in this area. This treatment can typically cost in the region of £200-£500 per session depending on the amount of product used.

The Verdict

We believe Chrissy looks amazing. It’s important to keep the balance of non-surgical treatments though – you can retain your youth but not overfill with products. Going to a reputable non-surgical provider will ensure they give advice to retain a natural youthful appearance in a safe clinical environment.
