Have the Friends cast had cosmetic surgery?

It's the one we've all been waiting for... The Friends reunion. As the iconic cast members of the much-loved sitcom reunite to reminisce and relive moments from the classic 90s comedy show about 6 friends living in New York, we couldn't beeeeeeee any more excited!

It's been 17 years since the last episode of Friends aired back in 2004, it may not be the reboot we were all hoping for, but it's certainly great to see Rachel, Ross, Monica, Phoebe, Joey and Chandler back on our screens again. We take a look at the cast to discuss whether we believe they may of had cosmetic surgery or a few tweakments here and there to keep them looking fabulous!

Rachel (Jennifer Aniston)

Rachel was the girl next door that we all wanted to be at some point, she served some iconic outfits and had the world going crazy for 'The Rachel' haircut. Looking back at photos of Jennifer Aniston, it is likely that she has had anti-wrinkle injections, often referred to as Botox, to her forehead and around her eyes (crow’s feet). This non-surgical treatment will create a smooth forehead and limit any frown/expression lines. The treatment will normally last 3-6 months as muscle action gradually returns, the lines and wrinkles begin to reappear and need to be treated again. This procedure can give the appearance of smoother skin if you are looking to achieve a youthful look, or it can be used as a preventative measure to slow the process of ageing.

Jennifer has previously admitted to having a rhinoplasty procedure, (similar to her character Rachel in friends) often referred to as a nose job, to correct a deviated septum in her twenties. This surgery could explain the change in Jennifer’s nose, but we believe she may have asked for a slender more natural bridge and tip making it a cosmetic Rhinoplasty. The result of the procedure is very natural and still in-keeping with the natural proportions of her face. The cost of a Rhinoplasty procedure depends on many different physiological factors, the techniques used and the surgeon performing the procedure. They typically range from £6,000-£10,000.

There is no denying Jennifer has amazing genes, but it is likely that her age-defying appearance may have had a little help from surgical and non-surgical procedures.

Monica (Courteney Cox)

Monica, was the loveable, cleaning obsessed, chef that we all wanted to live with, who iconically lost her apartment to Joey and Chandler in a game of trivia. Courteney has previously admitted to having the non-surgical treatment of dermal fillers to her cheeks. Filler plumps up skin sections as plumpness can be lost with the natural ageing process that both men and women go through. The procedure replaces soft tissue whilst filling in wrinkles/skin folds. It is possible that Courteney may have had more than the recommended amount of filler in her cheeks because she appears to have what is known as the “puffy look,” normally caused by over-filling. It is also possible that she has since had the filler dissolved and had a more natural amount injected, creating a slightly more natural youthful look than she had previously.

Looking back at previous photos of Courteney would also suggest she has had anti-wrinkle injections, often referred to as Botox, to her forehead and around her eyes (crow’s feet). This non-surgical treatment will create a smooth forehead and limit any frown/expression lines. The treatment will normally last 3-6 months as muscle action gradually returns, the lines and wrinkles begin to reappear and need to be treated again. The results of this treatment do not need to make a dramatic difference as a small amount in the correct areas can go unnoticeable. This procedure can give the appearance of smoother skin if you are after a youthful appearance, or it can be used as a preventative measure to slow the process of getting wrinkles. Courteney may have asked for a more youthful appearance with expressive facial movements rather than the “frozen” look, which gives limited expression, that she may have asked for in previous years.

It is possible that Courteney has undergone the non-surgical treatment of fillers to her lips as she appears to have fuller lips compared to previous images – especially when smiling. The average cost of lip fillers in the UK can range depending on the provider and the amount of filler used, however, you can expect to pay anything from £200 - £1000 per treatment.

We think Courteney looks fantastic, her appearance remains glowing and youthful, having scaled back to a more discrete amount of non-surgical treatments.

Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow)

Phoebe, the quirky twin who carried triplets for her brother, most loved for her song writing abilities and the infamous song 'smelly cat'. Lisa has previously admitted to having a Rhinoplasty procedure, often referred to as a nose job, at a very early age. Lisa’s nose following the surgery appears slimmer at the bridge and alar base. With a slightly raised tip. The result of the procedure is very natural and still in-keeping with the natural proportions of her face. The cost of a Rhinoplasty procedure depends on many different physiological factors, the techniques used and the surgeon performing the procedure. They typically range from £6,000-£10,000.

It is possible that Lisa has had the non-surgical treatment of dermal fillers to her cheeks at a point in her career. Fillers plump up skin sections, as plumpness can be lost with the natural ageing process that both men and women go through. The procedure replaces soft tissue whilst filling in wrinkles/skin folds.

Lisa is showing subtle signs of ageing to the neck and face which suggests she has aged gracefully and is unlikely to have had any further non-surgical treatments in recent years.

Joey (Matt LeBlanc)

Joey, the Italian actor who loved sandwiches and 'DOESN'T SHARE FOOD'.

Looking back at photos of Matt, it is likely that he has had the non-surgical treatment of anti-wrinkle injections to his forehead and frown lines at some point during his career, to slow the aging process rather than make a drastic change to his appearance.

Matt has clearly done something right as he seems to be defying the ageing process!

Chandler (Matthew Perry)

Chandler, was the comedian of the group, best known for his sarcastic witty one-liners. Looking back at photos of Matthew, would suggest he hasn't had any cosmetic surgery or non-surgical treatments. Weight gain and weight loss over the years can often cause changes to facial features as well as the natural ageing process.

Ross (David Schwimmer)

Ross was arguably the best cast member, the paleontologist that infamously divorced 3 times. It is possible that David may have undergone a rhinoplasty (nose job) procedure. Looking at back at (school) images his nose appears slight slimmer at the base (nostrils/tip) but remains a masculine natural nose shape. This procedure is popular amongst men and women. The cost of a Rhinoplasty procedure depends on many different physiological factors, the techniques used and the surgeon performing the procedure. They typically range from £6000-£10,000.

Looking back at previous photos of David, would also suggest he has had anti-wrinkle injections, often referred to as Botox, to his forehead. This non-surgical treatment will create a smooth forehead and limit any frown/expression lines. The treatment will normally last 3-6 months as muscle action gradually returns, the lines and wrinkles begin to reappear and need to be treated again.
