The Procedure
Breast reductions are usually performed under general anesthetic. The surgeon makes an incision around the nipple and vertically down and under the crease of the breast, in an anchor-like shape. Surplus tissue is removed and then the nipple and areola is moved to a higher, more youthful position.
How long does it take?
Between 2 and 3 hours depending on the extent of the reduction.
Is it right for me?
Any surgery is a big decision and we will provide all the details you need to make an informed choice. However, reductions can be wonderfully liberating for a woman living a lifetime of discomfort. Improved posture and greater confidence can be a truly life changing experience.
What happens after surgery?
After at least one night in hospital, you will need to take a couple of weeks off work to recover and gently reintroduce yourself to exercise over four to six weeks.
